Pretty in pink

Has anyone ever had the trouble of finding the perfect outfit to wear for a party where it has taken days to decide?  Trust me I just went through that problem this past week for Aria's birthday party that Becca was throwing.  I think the reason it was so difficult was that it involved one of my least favorite colors pinkThe theme of the party was tutu since Aria just turned two and if you were not able to wear a tutu wear pink which I got admit made me cringe because I am not big on pink.  Now for those that know me and  see me on a daily basis know that I DO own a few tops and one pair of shorts that are pink but it's not like I wear them all the time and they are more on the hot pinkish or purplish side.
In fact I did feel a little down about not owning enough of the color I went to my mom and asked her this,
"Why can't I be more girlie?, I feel so useless at times."
Mom of course knew about the party and the theme and what I was struggling with.  She just looked at me laughed and said,
"You're too big to wear a tutu and she said there was nothing wrong with me not being super girlie.
In the end it was all settled I wore my watermelon colored spaghetti strap top with my blue jean jacket over it along with a pair of jeans since it was a bit nippy and white shoes with a flower in my hair with makeup on.
This is my over all look for those who haven't seen.
The party was fun.  Most of the adults that attended had the same idea as far as the women.  They had flowers in their hair or wore fancy skirts or pink.  Becca looked goreous in a hot pink top and Aria looked cute in her tutu and little ballet slippers.  She loved her gifts.  I got her a snow cone maker and I think her family got her piano which she LOVED making music with her aunt.  So all in all it was a great party.
Well better get going.  I am going to catch up on some TV shows.  Till next time bye.

Cedear point update, novel fustration

Yes, I am still here if you want to know.  I have been so occupied lately with stuff around the house and the novel writing I haven't really thought about blogging or I would think about it but just say I would do it later and then never get to it.  I almost need to do it in the morning when I am having my cup of coffee so that I don't forget because I know many of you enjoy reading the posts that I write.  Well I have been meaning to update you on the Cedear point trip and the progress of the sci fi novel I am writing.
                               Beautiful day at Cedear Point
Well as I mentioned in my last post we were not able to go with Mandi and Charles but Nathan, and Hailee, and Mark joined Mom and I on the 11th which was that Thursday and we couldn't have picked a better day.  It was partly cloudy, maybe in the low 80's and we packed a cooler full of drinks, and food, so that we didn't have to spend a whole bunch of money on food.  Mom even got us preferred parking so that we didn't have to walk all that far from the park.  But anyway we got there around 10:30 and Nathan was immediately for riding the newest ride The Gate keeper.  But the thing was we didn't have a fast lane pass.  which was a wristband that could allow you to wait less and ride more by entering the fast lane entrance.
Anyway people who enter that entrance can get on 30 minutes faster then those who just wait in the regular line.  Anyway the wait for the Gate Keeper was an hour and a half without the fast lane and it was the busiest time.  I was about ready to kill Nathan because we may have been able to get on a couple other roller coasters or rides at that time and it was the very first one.  Nathan seemed to agree and thought it would get busier as time wore on but he was wrong.  Anyway neither of us were thrilled with the Gate keeper.  Mom complained about the harness being too tight and Nathan just didn't understand what the fuss was about.  After getting on The Raptor a similar upside down one we all agreed it that one was better.
Yes we did end up purchasing the fast lane passes.  We all agreed it was the way to go and even though mark seemed against it at first because of the price mom looked at him and said, "How often do we really go to Cedear point? maybe once every five years."  The fast track is what it's called and it's good for all the roller coasters except the top thrill dragster (fastest and I think highest roller coaster in the world.)  I don't remember the name of every roller coaster or ride that we went on but I will give you a list
    The Gatekeeper
     Raptor
Gimini (If you've been on that one you know that two roller coasters race each other.  (Nathan and Hailee in the blue car and Mom, Mark, and I in the red.  I didn't see the out come.  I think they won but we kept passing each other.
Mavric (I don't like that one)
The iron dragon
Magnum
Millennium force
Top Thrill Dragster )  I blacked out on that.  I was so petrified and mom was trying to calm me down assuring me it was going to be ok.  That is the worst thing you can do to me when I am petrified.  if you want to help me out when I am petrified Don't say anything!  even saying Heather I'm right here doesn't help.  Even Nathan's voice didn't help me.   When I am petrified or nervous about something I usually start imagining or even start hearing people's voices telling me I am a coward or I am too crippled to do it.
I kept hearing my grandparent's voices telling me that.  I knew that wasn't true because they were not there.  But I kept hearing the voices inside saying that she's too crippled, she'll have a seizure and I'd just tap my fingers against the railing as we would move closer.  I would mutter to myself,
"You are not backing out, you have to face your fear sooner rather then later."
But anyone who has ridden the top thrill dragster knows that the ride takes off in a flash and is over in less then 3 seconds.  In fact it is just one huge hill.  Well I could see nothing but black and mom had to yank me back and I didn't even feel her do it.  She said I had blacked out.  If you ask how I liked that ride I have no answer because I don't really remember it.  I almost have to go on it again just to see.  But it was the perfect day for Cedear point.  :)
                                            Novel
Yes as I mentioned to you before I am still working on the novel.  I have had good days and bad days.  See lately I have been getting frustrated because I had written many pages in a way that I really liked but then as I re read them I wanted to change it so I decided to start over and rewrite it in another point of view but then after a bit I decided that the original was better so scrap the new idea and go back to the original.        Sigh when will I ever learn that the orginal works best although I have learned that trying new approach can be helpful.  sometimes I just want to bang my head against a wall but what good would that do LOL.  Now a walk would be helpful then that.  Well better get going.  Till next time Xoxo

Back to the original plan

Boy it has been one crazy week maybe two because of the fact that we knew that Mandi was coming into town with Charles.  In fact we never knew the exact date and as you know I just arrived back from Florida and it felt like I just got settled.  Yes my bags were unpacked, yes I had seen most of the family except for one person and that was dad.  He has been busy so finally we got together this Saturday and had a great time.  We chatted, laughed, and watched him cook and watched a movie and relaxed outside.
But anyway plans kept on changing with Mandi because she wanted to take Charles to Cedar Point since he has never been to Ohio before.  She wanted to go Saturday at first but mom and I wanted to go as well and Saturday didn't work because it was Mark's birthday.  So mom said it was OK to go to dad's so it was back to my orginal plan.  Another plan that we had was that dad was going to do ribs, cucumbers and Sour cream, and a rice casserole, but he was afraid that wasn't going to possable because of weather but then he thought what the heck he would do them anyway so it was back to the orginal plan.  So anyway another plan that we had orginally set up was going to Cedear point on Thursday but because of weather Charles and Mandi had wanted to go today but due to an illness we couldn't go so mom, and I and a couple more of us are going Thurs but Mandi and Charles CAN'T because they will be back in South Carolina.  But anyway that is all for now till next time XOXO

I'm back

Well It's been a long time but as you can see I'm back.  If you were wondering why I WASN'T writting I WAS in Florida for two months spending time with grandma while she stayed behind.  I won't go into detail about all that we did but I had good days and bad days and I was just thankful to be home on June 16.  We did a few things such as go to the beach
See a movie.  ( We went to see the Jackie Robinson movie which was great, and the man of steel movie.
Both of those movies were great but grandma didn't see the man if steel film I had seen it with aunt Karla and her family while she went to see another.
If you remember I was gone along time in November also in South Carolina if you would ask me to compare I would say I had more fun at that trip.  I just felt like I was more involved with the cooking and such in South Carolina but in Fl I wasn't.  Grandma did all the cooking and there were a lot of issues that needed dealt with.  Grandma and I kept asking what next?  I will try and blog more often but lately I haven't been in the mood but I promise I will try even if they are short entries
             XOXO
Here are some photos from my trip

A recycable, entertaining Easter

I know, I know no time no see huh?  The truth is there have been days that I have been meaning to blog but then I would never get to it or that I would think that wouldn't necessarily be appropriate to put on here and yes I have been busy.  I have been still going to Holly's, attending a couple events with Jess and her family, and of course attending my Game group meetings which are still Fun.  I Am GLAD to say that  is a group for me and of course working on my novel.  I am on page 11 and almost on page 12.
Well anyway I have got to say this Easter was one of the most entertaining and recyclable ones I will have to say. Saturday night I had gone over to dad's to spend the night Saturday and mom had a purple shirt hanging up to dry but I had forgot to grab it because I had other things on my mind such such as wither if I had my cell phone charger, and if James grabbed the loaf of easter bread that mom made for dad.  But anyway yes I had everything but the top and it hit me as I was sleeping.  Anyway as I was texting mom wishing her a Happy Easter she asked me about it and at the same time dad asked me the question about the top and yes I mentioned I forgot it.  I was afraid that I wasn't able to go to church but mom said to have dad just put my shirt that I wore before in the dryer and it would be fine and it was basically the same color as the one I forgotten just not as dressy but with my make up it helped LOL.
Anyway when we came back from church dad got to work preparing the shrimp and cocktail sauce that was homemade and we were soon joined by James and Nathan.  The cocktail sauce and shrimp were delicious and the cocktail sauce had a kick to it from the horse radish dad put it in it.  Nathan and James were cussing and I was blowing my nose LOL.  So yes dinner was great also dad made a pasta dish and it was delicious!  :)  Well better get going and so you know I am now on Twitter as well as Facebook also :)

Book overview (In the land of the big red apple)

It has been awhile since I posted a overview on the latest book that I have read hasn't it?  You are probably wondering if I was still reading it.  No, to tell you the truth I am not.  I finished it I would say a week a go and started the next book in the series but I haven't been reading that much or anything much.  I have been busy hanging out with friends, or just watching TV and in place of the usual reading in bed I have been writing my book while I lay in bed.
I know many of you might think it's not necessarily a good thing because you are supposed to let the mind relax but sometimes that's when my imagination just spirals out of control about my novel writing.  Okay Okay enough of my chatter here is the overview.
                                 Book overview
Meet Rose Wilder, the daughter of Laura Ingalls Wilder and the last of the Little house girls.  Rose is turning nine and it's the exciting time on Rocky Ridge Farm.  The Wilder's have settled into their new home in the Ozarks, and Rose is helping bring in the harvest.  The year is filled with danger, excitement, and joy as Rose battles an ice storm, starts her second year as top student in her class and celebrates her first real Ozarks Christmas.
                                     My thoughts
Just like the last one I had fallen in love with it.  In a way Rose made me laugh in this one because she fell in love with a much older guy that she admired and she had gotten angry when she saw him with another woman more his age.  In a way that brought me memories of when I was little and how I used to admire my uncle that way and when I used to carry his photo around. hehehe.    I am sorry that I didn't post a photo of the book I was having trouble with it today since I hadn't done it in awhile.
                                       My novel update
I am on page 4 and about to start on my second chapter.  The truth is I wrote more then 4 pages but they weren't quite right so I crumpled them up and in the trash they went but the way I have written this has pleased me so I am confident plus I have a few people that are cheering for me to keep writing.  Well better get going lots to do.  bye :)

Girl scout sunday

Just out of curiosity how many of you ladies out there were a girl scout or a troop leader or just helped out with girl scouts what ever it be transporting them to their destinations out of school or purchasing some delicious cookies?  I can answer that question, yes I was a girl scout for a couple years in elementary school and made a few good friends.  I remember doing the whole experience telling mom I wanted to be a girl scout, going to the mall to pick out my uniform, getting introduced and singing the songs and yes selling the delicious cookies.  I remember it being lots of fun but I also having down times too that I can laugh at now.  One of those memories was that I had spilled chocolate milk all over my brownie girl scout top that I was wearing one day and the lunch monitor had to help me change.  I remember it being so embarrassing.
Well anyway last week at church I had found out that today they were honoring girl scouts and their leaders.  The girl scouts could show up in uniform and be handed special religious metals that were blessed by the priest himself and at the end they would be selling the cookies.  Yes that's how it went today, dad picked me up and as we walked in we saw all the girl scouts in uniform of all ages and yes the mass went on as normal but the priest had one of the girls read one of the readings and after communion the girl scouts got announced and received their metals and then we were asked to applaud and prey for them.  He then asked for any other woman to stand who was formally a girl scout.
"He said once a girl scout always a girl scout!"  Yes I did stand and it did feel good to get a round of applause even though I Don't necessarily like it lol.:)  Well better go.  I am sorry I haven't been blogging lately I have been busy but I will try a little harder since I am not facebooking at the moment.  :)    Since it's girl scout sunday I want to see if you can of my readers/ girl scouts know the words to this song.
Make new __but keep the old, one is ____ and the other's ____
A circle's round, it has no _____ that's how long I want to be your _____
Comment and let me know what you think the missing words are.  This was one of the first songs I learned when I joined my troop.  :)
