Emotional breakfast

I must admit this month has pretty sad and emotional for our family as many of you probably know my mom's cousin from Florida passed away and it seems like only yesterday I was over at his house giggling and laughing and sampling food that he was cooking.  I also remember him wishing me a happy mother's day and me giggling and saying "Thanks but I am not a mother."  He just laughed and said "Not yet but I am sure you will become one when you meet the right guy." I never got to see Jeffery that much since he did live in Florida but there are a couple things I will always remember such as his cooking and his sense of humor.  But anyway he will always be missed and emotions are still pretty raw especially for his his immediate family like uncle Robert and aunt Sue and Jeffery's siblings.
Well anyway yesterday was the day that uncle Robert and aunt Sue and grandma were coming in from Florida for the memorial that's taking place on the 27th.  Mom was the one who was going to pick them up from the airport and Mark and grandpa, and I were at grandpa's preparing breakfast or rather warming up breakfast that mom prepared ahead of time.   Mom had made a breakfast casserole and all that needed to be done was prepare some bagels that grandpa had purchased.  Anyway it was all ready by the time they arrived but we didn't eat right away we just sat around and talked and that was when it got emotional. Uncle Robert had pulled out his cell and said that he'd better call Bobby, and everyone in Fl to let them know that they got in safely but before he said Bobby's name he Jeffery's name slipped out and it hit him and me kind of hard too.  He started to tear up and mentioned that Jeffery called him every morning and that he loved cooler weather and he seemed extra cheerful when it got done in the 50's in Fl.
It was cooler yesterday.  everyone was in jeans and heck I was in my UGG boots which are my favorite shoes ever.  I LOVE both pair of my Uggs.  I said to mom if you buy me another pair of UgG boots in another color for Christmas I will be so happy.  :)
Well anyway just seeing Uncle Robert cry got to me because you rarely see a man cry and I remember when I was little I remember thinking when a boy reached a certain age like 18 he couldn'tcry anymore so yes it gets to me.  Well anyway I think I better go.  Lots to do.  Have a great day. XOXO

A miniture Thanksgiving day

Well if you all have been following me since last year you all should know that my favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. As I recalled I mentioned that in the post that I titled Thanksgiving preparations or Preparations for Thanksgiving either one it was the same post and I explained why it was my favorite holiday and how I share that with my dad.  Well anyway Saturday dad had invited me over for the night and to watch football Sunday and he had the menu planned for Saturday night which were burgers, tater tots, and whatever we wanted to drink.  Sunday he was originally going to make his usual which are spaghetti and meatballs, and homemade garlic bread but then he thought of a small twelve pound turkey he had downstairs and he said I better cook that now before it goes bad.  So of course he called James and said mentioned that he will need some help frying the turkey and that Nate and him were welcome to come over along with Hailee and Carson. If you are wondering about Carson she's James's new girlfriend and Hailee's best friend.
Anyway Sunday literally did feel like a miniature Thanksgiving.  Yes at Thanksgiving people are usually by the TV watching football or the parade and eating chips or gathered together laughing and the one who is frying or basting the turkey is joining in on the laughter but keeping an eye on the turkey as well.  It was all being done but  everything was smaller then a normal Thanksgiving including the crowd.  Nate didn't want to come and Hailee didn't know about it.  Dad made of course two of the usual sides which was the green bean casserole, and mashed potatoes and used cambells gravy as a shortcut.
Everyone but myself went up for seconds.  It was that good.  :)  I wanted to but I am trying to watch my girlish figure lol.  Anyway talk about Thanksgiving even came up.  I will not be spending it with dad this coming year I will be spending it with my mom and Mark in South Carolina.  :)  But even though I was a miniature Thanksgiving it did feel that I celebrated it with my dad.  :)   Well better get going.  XOXO

Book overview (Pretty Little liars book 1)

It has been awhile since I had posted a book review on the book that I was reading hadn't it? Sometimes I do go through a spurt as where I lose interest in the genera of books that I am reading and that I need to switch it up and I had the hardest time deciding what that should be until I watched a documentary of the making of the ABC family's Tv series Pretty Little Liars and the author Sara Shepard said that it was going the tv producers are doing things differently as far as the mystery, thriller, ect and I thought what the heck I am going to start and I read it in 9 days which is really fast for it usually takes a good two weeks to a month to get through a book. But then again it also depends on the length of it and what is going on. Ok enough chitter chatter.
OVERVIEW
Gossip thrives amid the Mercedes-Benzes mega mansions, and perfectly manicured hedges in the exclusive town of Rosewood Pennsylvania. Behind their big Gucci sunglasses, beneath their perfectly pressed polos, everyone has something to hide. Especially high school juniors Spencer, Aria, Emily, and Hannah. Spencer covets her sister's gorgeous new boyfriend, Aria is having an affair with her English teacher. Emily is infatuated with the new girl in school, and Hannah is using some ugly tricks to stay beautiful. Deeper and darker still is a horrible secret have shared since sixth grade, a secret that they thought was safe forever.
MY THOUGHTS
I loved this book because it kept me wondering about each of the characters and what was going to happen to them. Yes they throw some wicked curve balls at you as far as the differences from the show. Many of the characters have different physical traits then the TV series but the personalities were there. I however wouldn't recommend this book to a preteen such as 10 or 12 and I must admit there is a lot of drinking and cussing, and just really advanced behavior such as even bulimia. It is a teenage desperate housewives but heck if you are 16, 18, maybe looking for a good thriller mystery to start in high school or even when you are 25 like me give it a try. It will leave you hanging :-). I already purchased book 2.
Well better get going. Need to take a shower. :-)
