A blast from the past

Well as you know Saturday was the day that I hung out dad and it sure did feel like a blast from the past.  See if you remember all the other times that I had went to dad's house I had actually told you about a menu but we really don't really do much anymore like we used to.  When he lived in Akron when my parents first got divorced we were on the go a lot when he had us every other weekend.  It seemed like Fridays we would go out to eat, then to the grocery store to get snacks and such and then we went to the video rental place to rent videos and then of course Saturday we were on our way to a movie and then go out to dinner.  Yes if you are asking we still did enjoy his good cooking.
There would be times where we wouldn't DO anything sundays and he would just cook while Nathan and I watched our videos that we rented for the last time but there were other times  where he he would say to me look up movie times for these movies and I would log onto the internet and look up the movie times.  Well anyway during dinner we always had discussions about the movie as far as whatever we liked it, what films it reminded you of.  There would be times where Nathan and I would laugh at dad because he would whistle music from the movie or imitate a certain character.  I think I got the biggest kick when he immigrated gollium from Lord of the rings and said "my precious, or stupid fat hobbit."  Anyway we saw many movies together but as we got older the movies kind of stopped and dad movied to lake cable so that was our fun for the time.
Well anyway Saturday was like a blast from the past.  Dad wanted to see Les Miserables and of course he asked if I wanted to and of course I DID even though I had already seen it.  So dad picked me up and after dropping off my bag and purse and after watching Spider Man 3 to pass the time we were ready to go.  Dad kept on telling me how excited he was to see it and HE said it WAS one heck of a movie.  Afterwords we went out to dinner discussing things that went on and about the film and yes he was whistling some of the songs so it did feel like a blast from the past.  :)  He even said we should look for another movie.  Well anyway better get a move on it. We are doing a little prank on James who is coming to stay with us.  He is moving back to ohio with joy in the Cincinnati or columbus area.  That will be nice to see them more often.  Bye.

My first overview of the year (Little farm in the ozarks

Well as you can see I am done with a book and it's time for another book review and what my thoughts were about it.  I must say this was a quick read.  It just felt like I was eager to turn the page after I was done just to complete the chapter just to see what would happen next.  So here it goes you might not be surprised by what I chose but then again you might because this wasn't the genera of book I was reading if you had been keeping up with me on face book.
                                                           Book review
Meet Rose Wilder. The daughter of Laura Ingall's Wilder. :)
Going fishing for the first time, starting in a new school, saving the farmhouse from a fire, those are the elements of her first year at Rocky Ridge Farm.  She has moved there with her parents Laura and Almanzo to begin a new life in the Missouri Ozarks.  Rose feels out of place as the new girl in class but gradually gains confidence, as Rocky Ridge becomes her home.
Thoughts I really enjoyed this book.  I know, I know a book for immediate readers but I just couldn't help myself.  I have always LOVED the Little House books that Laura wrote herself and even though Rose didn't necessarily write these herself like her mother, a good friend of hers did and I am enjoying them just as much.  This is the second to the series.  I read the first in 5th grade and started this one and the thing with me I COULD STILL remember what part I left part I left off on.  It was a library book.  So yes I will continue to read the rest of the series.
Well hate to cut this short but have to go get packed.  Going to dad's today.  Till next time bye.

Game obcession

Do any of you enjoy playing games?  Whether it's games on your cell phone, i pad, maybe just a good fashioned card game or board game.  If you know me I LOVE to play games and will play a game with a person any day rather then just sitting around watching TV and yes I love to play games by myself now.  That's the beauty of having a smart phone and of course the new i pad mini. It's funny because I have been told that I have this focused determined look on my face when I do play these games that it makes the people that are watching me play laugh and THERE are times when I do talk to myself when I am playing even though I try not too.  I will list a couple of the games that I DO LIKE to play and what type they are.
I won't list all the rules because most of these games you have probably played before but you will probably remember by my descriptions.  :)
                                                   Game  1 Ninja Fruit
Yes that tops my list.  Aunt Karla showed me how to play it on her i phone on their last trip here and immediately I was hooked.  For those that don't know ninja fruit is a game that you play on your cell phone or i pad.  You use your fingers as the blade to cut fruits while avoiding bombs. For those that want to know I do talk to myself at times saying things like, "Come on Heather cut the fruit, or one more come on. or oh man!" when I barely make my high score.  My mom has laughed at me a couple times LOL.
                                                    Game 2 Dice with Buddies
Well if it wasn't for Ninja Fruit this one would have been on the list.  I think everyone as far as mom and Mark are obsessed with it more than me but hey I can lie to say it's not one of my favorites.  You are basically playing Yahtzee on your smartphone and yes we can play with other people but different games.  I DON'T talk to myself very much when I am playing this.  Instead I am listening to Mark and mom talk to themselves about trying to beat each other they even have a Yahtzee dance which I don't do.  LOL
                                                      Game 3 Angry Birds
Yes that classic game for the cell phone or whatever gadget you would like to download on sucked me in.  Ricky and Mandi got me hooked.  In fact that was the first game I played on MY I pad mini and yes I did get stuck on a level and it was funny because I would say to myself JUST GET THE DARN PIGS ALREADY!"  Of course I wasn't shouting but in my mind I was LOL.   Well anyway to tell you the truth I think I am still on that level. Anyway I like just about any kind of game out there.  :)  Bring on the games.  Well anyway comment below and let me know what your favorite games are bye.

Switching things around

I think it's so funny how you think it is time for a switch on something whether it be a new book, or if you are going to switch things in the living room a little bit but it's weird because I have had the thought of switching things around also.  Recently I just switched books I was recently reading this book called HUGE and I was originally going to have that as my first book overview on this blog like I used to do but then Jess and I went wondering around at Books A Million and I recently purchased two books from there and I was just so eager to get started on those books so that will be the book I post on here when I finish.  I will not tell you the title you will just have to wait and see.  :-) But anyway as you all know by now I am on the brain storming process of my novel and an idea crept to me that I should switch gears and change it a bit and make it more sci fi fantasy like with whole new characters rather about a girl with a seizure disorder.  Now don't get me wrong that storyline of the strong willed determined girl that doesn't let anyone or anything keep her down will still be in the works because that IS so My story but told in a fiction way so don't fret I will still write it but I want to explore and try to create a whole new world and ask Jess for help if she wants.  She's good at that.  ;-)
Well that's all for now.  Till next time. XOXO

Wondering women

Well yesterday was a fun day.  For the first time since the end of November Jess and I got together for lunch and to exchange gifts and to have some fun.  :)  She had text me the night before asking if I wanted to get together and how could I say no to my best friend.  So I let her take me to her favorite restaurant which is Zoups.  For those of you who don't know of that restaurant it is a place where they serve soups, salads, and all kinds of sides.  They give you the opportunity to sample the soups that you think of ordering before you actually order.
I couldn't believe the many kinds of soups they had since it was my first time there.  I had sampled two soups a macaroni and cheese and a chicken pot pie.  In the end I purchased the macaroni and cheese, a soup that they don't make every day.  It was rich but very tasty.  :)  So you know I had received a beautiful snowflake necklace along with earrings, hot chocolate, and two magnetic clips with bible verses about friendship.  :)  I had gotten Jessie a box of DOVE chocolates which she I knew she loved from checking out her facebook page :)
Anyway after lunch she had asked if there was any stores I would like to go to and I just shook my head but I wasn't quite ready to go home yet since we haven't seen each other so long.  So we decided to walk the strip and just go wondering around the stores such as Books A Million, which I had bought two good books, and we just wondered around and goofed around.  We even went to Office Max and Best Buy to look as well.  So we were just a pair of wondering women.  :)
Well better get going.  I have a couple things to around here.

New year mini post

Yes I am back.  I think this has been the longest record yet.  I have never gone a whole month without blogging a post but for those of you who are a facebook follower of mine you know that I was offered to stay in South Carolina longer then planned and of course I took the offer.  I won't go into detail as far as what I did day by day like I said I was going to do in a mini post collection like I said I was going to do when I was going to stay a week but I will list some of the activities that we did.
                                 I enjoyed hiking
                                                making ginger bread houses
                                                touring the governor's home.
Going to my cousin Mandi's restruant.
Shopping at the mall with both Judy and Ricky.
visiting my former aunt and her new family.
                                                   Going to the movies:
For the record we saw three movies.  Judy, Uncle Rick and I went to see The Life of Pi, Ricky Mandi, and I went to go see The Rise Of The Guardians which was pretty darn funny, and Ricky and I went to go see The Hobbit before we all left.  (That was my favorite.)
cooking As my face book followers know I cooked two dishes.  I cooked a cornflake chicken, and a last minute lasagna and they were both a hit.  Uncle Rick put both recipes in their recipe book titled RICK &JUDY'S COOKBOOK.  It just made me smile knowing that they wanted my recipes.
But just like all vacations it all had to end so I came home with the hustle and bustle of birthday/Christmas.
What I received for birthday and Christmas
Well I didn't receive a whole list of Christmas gifts and birthday gifts like I used to when I was little.  My parents went together and got me the i pad mini which was great because that will replace the pandigital novel which has been falling apart.
                                           I received UGG fashion boots
I received a pandora bracelet for my birthday and because people knew that I was getting it half of it is filled with beads and charms already.  It is so beautiful.
                                             New Year's reintroductions and changes
For those who have been following me since the beginning of my blogging days you probably have read a post stating what my interests were in TV and if my interests have changed over the year and if I changed over this year.  Well my name hasn't.  My full name is still Heather Noel Miklandric and I am still called Frodo  and I still live at the same place with same people.  :)  But I have learned a great deal about my inner strength and that I had to be careful as regards to facebook, and about saying things inappropriate that I didn't even mean to in public especially on Facebook or twitter.  I won't go into detail but I have learned a huge lesson and it just shows you never stop learning.
                                           TV shows
                                            Hey Arnold
                                            The Biggest Loser
                                            Extreme Makeover (weight loss Edition)
                                            The Voice
                                             Hell's Kitchen
                                            Master Chef
                                            Switched At Birth
                                               Entertainment tonight
                                              project runway
ABC family channel (during the weekends.
As you noticed I no longer watch Doug, or Sponge Bob like I used too.  I just don't enjoy the Nicholedon shows that often anymore and it seems like Hey Arnold is the one that I enjoy watching the most now.  I think you notice that I no longer watch Dancing With The Stars.  That show would collide with others and I just thought that show was uninteresting to meet the others.  Yes there are still some that I will still watch with mom.  I still enjoy reading but it's funny because now that I want to be a author I find myself studying the author's writing styles LOL.  :)   Well I better go I am glad to be back to blogging.  :)
                                                                                            Lots of love,
                                                                                                     Heather (Frodo)
