Confusion; visiting my aunt
Boy it seems like I have been spending a lot of time with my grandparents lately haven't I and I am probably not even through yet because the Summer isn't over. Yes, I was with grandma yesterday and and a good part of the afternoon. In fact I was just dropped an hour ago after we had went to Louisville to visit my grandma's sister, aunt Nancy. I will tell you about that later but when I first got asked to spend the night yesterday I thought she meant she was coming today at 4 and I would be spending tonight with her but that wasn't the case so of course when she came to the door with Dunkin I didn't have anything ready and when I told her of the mix up she laughed and said there is no rush. Of course it was easy to pack because I was just there not too long ago and my bag was still by the door with a pair of clean shorts so all I had to do is grab a top and a few other things from upstairs and I was done.
Before we knew it we were on the road. For the record I had a good time. After we brought my bag in we played the card game Golf. If you remember I posted the roles on my post titled : Extended time with grandparents. We played it twice and unfortunately I lost both times but oh well I will win next time LOL.
For the record after a fabulous dinner of BBQ ribs grandma and I went to watch America's Next Top Model finale. It was funny because grandma kept on telling me how interesting the show looked and asked me what it was about and after telling her all about it she couldn't take the eyes off the screen and would let out a guess over who she would think she was going to win. She loved Sophie and her pink hair. I don't know however how she felt about Laura. Yes, we both watched the whole thing and saw who won, I however will not be giving it away just in case any of you haven't had the chance to watch it yet. OK now back to the visit with my aunt Nancy.
We went over there a little after 1 after getting lunch at subway. Grandma had brought Dunkin since aunt Nancy has a dog his size named Rascal. Aunt Nancy seems to be doing all right in some ways but in not so good in other ways. Her husband passed I would say 7 months ago maybe less but she is recovering from that. She is in the process of cleaning out his clothing. But anyway she was anxious to feed us blue berry cobbler and after a few hours of girl chat we decided it was time to get going. So home sweet home. :)

Getting a spring shower, memorial picnic update
Boy we sure did get some rain this morning, didn't we? Boy we sure do need it though. It seems like when I am taking a walk or a drive with my mom it seems like all you are seeing are brown lawns everywhere. It seems like Summer has come way too soon as far as that part. In fact Mark was teasing mom and telling her that we should all go outside and do a rain dance so that the it would rain LOL. Well anyway as far as I know we got some and that's a start.
Well anyway yesterday I told you that I was going to my family picnic and that I would update you about it. So you know it went well but I think it was a mistake to go. Yes I was still feeling under the weather but I desperately wanted to be there so I went. For those of you who don't know our family is Italian and is very loud and of course is centered around food. Of course when you are sick who wants to be around a bunch of loud talkers in a church hall but luckily it was nice so I was able to get out with Rachel and help her watch my younger cousins while they played on the park equipment.
There were even enough swings for all of us to swing on the swing set together but unfortunately Rachel couldn't swing for long because Anthony wanted her to push him. For the record Anthony is 5 and is going to start kindergarten next year. So you know Rachel looks good. She is due on August 23 Jeez I can't wait to find out what the baby is. :)
Well anyway after a while it was time to eat. Each family brought their own meat and everyone brought a side. For the record mom had brought the corn on the cob, and grandpa had brought steak for our immediate family. There is so many people I can't remember what everyone brought but I will list some.
Cousin Kimmy: banana cream pies (Yummy) Even though yesterday it didn't taste so good to me :(
Cousin Frankie: pasta and sauce
grandma and grandpa: Chinese chicken salad for a side and of course the steaks
Cousin Colleen: potato salad
Rachel : angel food cake
There was much more there, there was even an apple pie and doubled eggs but like I said I don't remember who brought it all. Like I said I didn't eat that much because I was feeling poorly but it was a good time. Well anyway as we were eating it had started to rain a little and everyone started cheering so I don't think there will be a need for us to do a rain dance or at least not yet and if they do I am not taking part in it LOL. Well better go. Lots of love.

Pool party update; memorial day picnic
Well I arrived home with my grandparents yesterday afternoon and it was such a gorgeous day guess what we did? you guessed it we had another pool party. Mom had invited Uncle Craig, and aunt Lisa over the night before last when we were invited out to dinner with grandma and grandpa and the rest. Unfortunately Mark and mom were not able to come because they were invited to a birthday dinner so I just went and I ended up spending the night as I said on my last post. We had went to dinner at Papa Bears and the meal I had ordered was delicious. I ended up ordering a individual special spinach and ricotta pizza with mozzarella cheese that mom usually gets when she goes there.
In fact when I was through with my meal I text mom letting her know what I had ordered and that it was delicious and she seemed really excited and she sent a text saying : That's what I get! I responded back by saying that that's why I got it and that it just one of our mother daughter similarities. Well anyway back to the pool party, everyone said that the pool was refreshing and everyone had a good time, I on the other hand shouldn't have celebrated about allergy relief so soon. Yesterday I woke up with the runny nose, sneezing, itchy throat, plus a symptom I didn't get yet which are.... itchy eyes. The worst part was I couldn't take anything because I had already taken the last of the allergy medicine.
I was sneezing every three minutes and rubbing my eyes and blowing my nose but I still socialized with everyone and didn't let it affect me. Everyone but grandma in paricular was almost feeling sorry for me and telling me to take something when I told her I couldn't it looked like she was going to cry and I looked at her and everyone else and I said
You are looking at someone who used to have seizures this time of year and if I could handle those I handle allergies . and the fuss over me was over. Well anyway are any of you guys doing anything special on memorial day? For as long as we could remember we have always celebrated my great grandma's birthday on memorial day and we have a family reunion at a church hall. So I guess that's that we will be doing. Stay tuned for updates on that. I am glad to hear that Becca got her blog going. Can't wait till she joins my site. Now we are offical blog buddies. Well I guess that's all for now, Lots of love.

A day filled with text messages, dinner with grandparents
Boy my cell phone sure has been going off. This has been a day about receiving and responding to texts from my two best (bosom) friends or what Anne would say in the Anne of Green gables series Becca and Jessie. It was Becca who had started it yesterday when she texted me yesterday asking me how I was doing after she had seen her baby Aria doing something that made her think of me. She was eating baby lotion. She had sent me a photo of Aria sitting on the floor with a pump of baby lotion in her hands and it said
Aria! you don't eat the baby lotion and I just got the biggest kick out of that so now every time Becca sees Aria getting into the baby lotion she thinks of me and sure enough that's what she was doing yesterday. Well anyway we didn't text for very long because she was taking Aria to the mall and she didn't want to text and drive so she text photos of what outfits she picked out for Aria.
She told me that she already outgrew almost everything she owned LOL. She picked out some cute clothes. Well anyway I remember she was one of those people who liked to write and I asked if the thought if ever creating a blog came to her. She said she never really thought of it but she really liked the idea and that she wanted my help create one on blogger. I told her I would be more than happy to and that we can be blog buddies and that we can join each other sites. She will probably do it later this evening. She said she has a busy day.
As far as Jessie she asked if I was going to church with her and David tomorrow. I was going to but then my mom called and said she got a call from grandma wondering if I was interested in coming over there to spend the night and go out to dinner with uncle Craig and aunt Lisa. Of course I just couldn't turn down family. Sorry for blowing you and David off Jessie but I still love you as a sister. :) Well I better get going. I still have to pack my overnight bag and get a couple things together.

Allergy relief; news from grandma
This has been one of the first mornings I woke up in a long time that I have actually felt better in a long time. Yes my allergies have been acting up and they have been none stop. In the last week since it has gotten nice mom and Mark had decided to open the windows and let the fresh air in and ever since than I have dealing with my allergy symptoms which are itchy throat, and runny nose, and constant sneezing, and once in awhile coughing. If you have to ask what the worst symptom I would say the itchy throat. Well anyway during the nights I would take Bendryl but there would still be nights when I would get up in the middle of the night with my throat itching and yesterday I was carrying tissues with me everywhere just sniffling away but I did some reading on my Nicholas Sparks novel. In fact I told mom there is nothing like curling up on the couch with a soft pillow, blanket, with a good Nicholas Sparks novel while you got the sniffles and she agreed.
Mom said they are the best. Well anyway as I was taking it easy yesterday grandma called and asked when I am going to take the SARTA bus and visit her. I told her I was basically waiting till she was feeling better and to be truthful wait till I was feeling recovered from these alergeries and she understood and she also asked if I was interested in staying with them while Mark and mom go to Cincinnati the last weekend of June and she also asked me if I was interested in going seeing the musical The Confession with her, Uncle Craig, and aunt Lisa in grandpa's place. It is based on the series The shunning by Beverly Lewis and grandma said that grandpa just doesn't care to see a musical but she knew I would, so that should be something fun to look forward to. I will let you know how we thought of it but that won't be till August I believe. :)

Black and white tasks, lunch with girls
Yes as you can tell from my title that everything I had accomplished today had to do with those colors. LOL I am even wearing a white polo shirt and a pair of black shorts with a pair of black shoes when mom and I went to pick up my new glasses. She laughed at me and said I could cross off another thing off my to do list. For the record I am still in love with them as much as I had been when I saw them the first time and so does mom, Joy, and Katey. Katey had text mom inviting us for lunch at Eady's and that's where they had seen them for the first time. Of course the conversation wasn't just about the designer glasses it was about getting a bikini wax. For the record mom is really adamant about making an appointment for me to get my bikini line waxed so that I wouldn't have to feel have self conscious and that it would last during the Summer.
Katey was for it and said she would also do it the same time but I on the other hand am not as enthusiastic about it. Mom said there is nothing to be afraid of and they do it the same way they do the lip and eyebrows but I am just so modest in the bikini area and even though I have high pain tolerance I am almost afraid of the pain. LOL I know the girl who survived brain surgery is saying this. I am cringing just thinking about it. But I have a feeling that it's going to be done but it's not on MY to do list it's on mom's.
Well anyway just in case you are wondering about the other black and white task I have to get done is hemming my dress that I will be wearing to the rehearsal dinner before Jessie's big I do. Like I said on a previous post mom is marking it and dropping it off at Dillards tomorrow and we are probably be doing that after dinner. Well I think I am going to go read. Just in case you are wondering what novel I am reading I have started the latest Nicholas Sparks books called The Best Of Me. I did purchase The Fiddler by Beverly Lewis but then I thought I needed a break of the amish world LOL. I will let you know how it is when I am done.

Pool party; book review
Well it's another beautiful day that Joy and Katey had decided to come on up and get some sun and just chill. Just like Hailee and I had did yesterday we just laid out by the pool and did some girl talking. I would today was more of a party than yesterday because yesterday it was just Hailee and I laying out by the pool talking and playing with Onyx and today Joy, and Katey, were with me along with mom even though mom kept on disappearing every now and than to do a load of laundry. Nathan was even home and had even ordered a pizza for all of us but Hailee will probably not be joining us till a little later due to attending her sister's bridal shower. But anyway I am happy to say as I was waiting for everyone to arrive I finally finished the book I was reading.
I told you on a previous post that I was reading the book called The Mercy by Beverly Lewis. The amish author that writes the series of books about amish families. Have you ever fallen in love with the characters in a series and you are sad to say good bye to those particular characters when the last book comes to an end? In this case that is what happened. I have grown to love the protagonist which was Rose and her sister and their amish family and friends. These characters in this Rose trilogy drew me closer then to any other series I have ever read of hers. Here is brief review of each book.
Book 1 The Thorn Set in Lancaster County two sisters, self absorbed, and impulsive Hen who left her old order amish family to marry a man of the world, and the sweet obedient Rose Ann, the younger sister whose slim shoulders hold responsible for the crippled mother's care, are both troubled in spirit. Hen now has a four year old daughter and yearns for a life at her parent's house forsaking her husband. Rose Anne finds solace in currying and riding her father's driving horses accompanied by her dear childhood friend Nick who refuses to attend church.
Book 2 The judgement Rose is now engaged but loves another, and Hen is dealing with her outsider husband and his divorce threats.
Book 3 The Mercy Both sisters yearn for new beginnings. Rose finds love and Hen cares for her injured husband. Yes I read all three of them, like I said you have to read them in order because the end leaves you hanging. Well anyway as I've read some of her novels you learn words of another language. But anyway enough boasting about the book I am just curious. For any of those that are reading my blog and who I would call a book worm what are some series of books that you have come to love? I will share mine.

Catching some sun
Boy it sure is a beautiful day outside isn't it? In fact I didn't mention this yet but our pool cover is now off and we are getting the pool water ready and heated for swimming. Even though the water wasn't ready Hailee and I decided to get our swimsuits on and put on sunscreen and get some sun. We were even joined by Onyx who had his ball in his mouth and kept on dropping it in the pool wanting Hailee and I to retrieve it. LOL he is a silly boy.
See he doesn't like clear water but I heard he eagerly jumped off the dock on lake cable when dad watched him one time when he still lived there. But he does lay on the steps to get cooled off. Well anyway even though we couldn't use the pool it was fun to lay out and talk. Hailee had turned on some music from her phone. For the record we listened to these older bands such as NSYSC and Backstreet boys, and many other atrists of that genera.
She also told me of her little nephew Parker and how he loves to swim and if she thought if mom would mind if she brought him over here sometime. I said I didn't think she would mind at all because she lets Rachel bring her nephew Anothony who is around Parker's age and I told her how much fun he had when he had came swimming. So it looks like the pool parties will be starting soon. LOL Jessie you are free to come when you have the time :) Well better sign off Mark just got home and noticed that I am pretty red but before any of you guys start worrying I am in no discomfort. That is how I get the very first day :)

We were even joined by Onyx who had his ball in his mouth and kept on dropping it in the pool wanting Hailee and I to retrieve it. LOL he is a silly boy.
See he doesn't like clear water but I heard he eagerly jumped off the dock on lake cable when dad watched him one time when he still lived there. But he does lay on the steps to get cooled off. Well anyway even though we couldn't use the pool it was fun to lay out and talk. Hailee had turned on some music from her phone. For the record we listened to these older bands such as NSYSC and Backstreet boys, and many other atrists of that genera.
She also told me of her little nephew Parker and how he loves to swim and if she thought if mom would mind if she brought him over here sometime. I said I didn't think she would mind at all because she lets Rachel bring her nephew Anothony who is around Parker's age and I told her how much fun he had when he had came swimming. So it looks like the pool parties will be starting soon. LOL Jessie you are free to come when you have the time :) Well better sign off Mark just got home and noticed that I am pretty red but before any of you guys start worrying I am in no discomfort. That is how I get the very first day :)

New dress approval
Well...... I accomplished another thing that I wanted to get done for Jessie's wedding. Jeez the to do list keeps on growing. When I think that the list is all done mom keeps wanting to add stuff such as color my hair, get a manicure and pedicure, and get a new dress for the rehearsal dinner. As you can tell I got my new dress. My mom had took pictures of three different dresses text them to me and I fell in love with the very first one. For the record it's a long black and white dress and when I tried it on mom noticed it will have to be hemmed but it is very pretty and it can be worn for many other events and it will also go will with my black sandals.
Well anyway mom brought it home yesterday and when I tried it on after we noticed that the bottom was really long and that it needs to be taken in. She said that wasn't a problem we will mark how much we want hemmed ourselves and she will take it to the seamstress at Dillards and it will be done in no time. LOL there are many reasons why we like Dillards. Well anyway as mom was helping me tie the front Mark came in and stared at me wide eyed and said that I looked sexy. Mom and I both laughed as I ran to the bathroom to look in the mirrior to check myself out. As I was coming out Nathan came downstairs and looked at me wide eyed and asked me where I was going.
I told him I wasn't going anywhere and that I was trying on a dress for a rehearsal dinner. He just shrugged and went upstairs to his room. I just had to laugh when I when Mark said I looked sexy and even when Nathan stared at me wide eyed. See I can't see myself as beautiful as say my mom, or aunt Karla, or Rachael or even Jessie. Even with make up on I feel that way. Don't get me wrong I am not saying I am ugly but I am just saying I am just plainer than everyone else around me.
Well anyway sometimes when people tell me that I look pretty or whatever I just feel like they are saying it to be nice and to make me feel better. Well anyway I am glad that everyone approved of the dress :) Well better get going have a nice day.

Offering a little help
Geez there must have been something going around here lately as far as an illness. It seemed to start on the night of my mom's surprise party and some people I won't say names had to leave early. Well anyway from what I heard grandma was the last person to get the illness. She started to feel ill the Wednesday before mom's birthday. In fact she had to cancel our dinner plans that we had with them that night.
Well yes, she was feeling well on mother's day but she isn't back to herself yet and from what I hear grandpa is in pain. From what I hear he needs to have his shoulder replaced and is in severe pain he is having trouble working in the yard such as mowing the lawn. Mom mentioned the idea of everyone such as uncle Roger and aunt Karla and the rest of the siblings pitching in and paying for someone to come out to mow the lawn for the summer. I mentioned that grandpa might not like the idea because he seems to always be out in the yard doing that stuff and mom said he might not have a choice anymore, when he is in so much pain so she is researching for anyone who is in the lawn care service or does yard work. She text cousin Charlotte who knows of a guy who does her kids lawn but I heard mom tell Mark that she'll be open to any more references. So if any of you who are following knows of a person who mows lawns or any kind of lawn service please comment. Thank you :) Well it's getting late and I think I am going to turn in. Sweet dreams.

Mother's day update
Well I hope everyone had a fantastic mother's day and all you mothers got some sweet gifts from your sweet children. In fact I got a photo message from my friend Becca showing me what she had received from her husband and daughter Aria. For the record she had received a bouquet of flowers and a card. Aunt Karla just posted something on facebook saying that Maria, and Luke and uncle Bob made her brunch after church. Aww how sweet looks like they got it good LOL. Well anyway Nathan went to the store for mom to get the groceries that she needed for the salad and he also was the one who drove us there since mom had given Katey her car the other night.
For the record we had a good time seeing everyone and the food was excellent. I don't remember the place they ordered it from they ordered this brisket with baked beans, sweet potato casserole, and corn bread, and mom made a salad and aunt Lisa made her lasagna. I know there was a lot of food and aunt Lisa said she wouldn't have made the lasagna if she would have known they would be ordering two sides. Anyway after the dishes were done and after a half hour of talk aunt Lisa put on coffee and the dessert was laid out. For the record grandma had made cream puffs and they were delicious. As we were enjoying our cousin Andrew and his new girl friend Anna came in. She is so sweet and it looks like I might have another facebook friend LOL. :) So it was nice talking to her and before we knew it was getting late. Well anyway better get off, I have the urge to do some writing :)

Mother's day plans
Well it's mother's day, a day where you are supposed to show appreciation to your loving and caring mother. How many of you got cards or gifts for your mom already or even better how many of you moms reading this have already received your gifts or cards from your children? LOL Mark had went to the store and picked out a card for Onyx to give to her. It was funny. It has a golden retriever puppy sitting on his hind legs with a bouquet in his hands and when you open it it reads : I ruv you in place of I love you.
I burst out laughing when I read it. For the record Mark picks out the cutest cards that just have some humor into them. I had to laugh and I said to mom: "I love the humerus cards. I'd prefer to get those rather then the serious ones on my birthday all the time. I told her that she always gives me these serious cards such as To a very a special daughter on her birthday and a very touching message and don't get me wrong those messages are really sweet but I want a little laugh. She laughed and she said she'll remember that and I told her if she needs help ask Mark LOL.
Well anyway I didn't really plan on what to get mom and before I knew it time was up. I Do have some ideas for next year though. I think I am going to try my luck at home made thing next year for mother's day. They give some excellent ideas on the news programs and plus I think home made items have a little more meaning. But that is still a year away from now LOL so I don't have to worry yet.
But anyway today we are going to my uncle Craig and Aunt Lisa's for dinner. Yes grandma and grandpa will be there and so will aunt Lisa's parents. It should be good time. We are in charge of bringing the salad. I'll let you know how it all turns out and what we do. Well better get going. Happy mother's day to all the loving mothers.

Customization; A very special birthday
I know, I know I haven't posted in awhile but I have decided to do some work on my blog and make it truly mine and now I feel like it is :) If you checked it out you noticed the lay out has changed and I have uploaded some photos that fulfill my interest. I mean I always felt like I had ownership to this blog but I felt like anyone could have created it and I just felt like it needed something special. It took me a good three days of hard work to make this blog truly mine and to really be satisfied. I feel like every photo I have chosen to upload has some meaning or interest to me but if you have to ask me what my favorite photo I would have to say the epilepsy awareness one. I DO believe that there is an angel watching over me because I have survived epilepsy.
Well anyway today is mom's birthday. Happy Birthday mom I love you :) Well anyway like since we already had celebrated it Mark is going to take her out to dinner for a bit of romance so I will probably be on my own watching movies. In a way I feel like I could just hurt myself because Jess invited me to a banquet but I declined thinking we were going to do something. LOL that is the last time I am doing that. If you ask me to do something on May 12th Jess next year and if it's not mother's day I am in LOL.Well anyway I better go. Hope you like the changes I made on my blog. Just so you know tomorrow is mother's day. Don't forget to wish your loving mother a happy mother's day :)

Eye appointment update; nappy time
Well....... I tackled another thing on my to do list which was to attend my eye DR's appointment and to find my new eye glasses that I wanted. I had ordered these beautiful black and white designer juicy cotore glasses. When mom told me they were juicy cotore I started laughing because I knew that that was a perfume but I didn't know that juicy designed glasses or clothes or anything LOL. Just in case you want to know the Dr said my I am doing real well as far as my eyes and he's surprised that my vision hasn't changed since my surgery besides the loss of my preferential vision. He mentioned the possibly of eye surgery so that I wouldn't have wear glasses or contacts anymore a year from now.

Anyway after both and mom and I were done we were on our way to the grocery store to get the things we needed for dinner. For the record we had mom's cornflake chicken along with a cheese rice broccoli casserole that everyone loves. For the record Hailee loves mom's cornflake chicken and gets excited every time mom and I make it. Anyway after we got all the stuff we picked up Katey and we headed back. It was funny when we came home because everyone their own thing for a while. Mom did a load of laundry, Katey ate a sandwich, and I went upstairs to read.
But after awhile we all gathered in the living room and watched a marathon of top chef. It was funny because Katey and mom were laying down on both couches taking a nap and I was on the floor on these chair cushions that were so comfy I curled into a ball and took a nap of my own. It made my mom laugh because I hardly ever take napps but I couldn't help it those cushions were so comfortable LOL, plus my allergies are acting up so who says I can't take a nap every now and then LOL.

Wow! that's all I can say about this weekend. This weekend was all about my mom's surprise party that Mark was planning for months. Yes we all got her good. If you remember on a previous post I said that I was going to dad's if you were at the party you noticed that was not true. We all started to arrive around 5:30 or 6:00 but Nathan, Hailee, and I arrived a little early to help get things ready.
For the record we had brought the cake and it was beautiful. Nathan had ordered it and it had half of it vanilla and half red velvet since she LOVES red velvet cake but the thing with red velvet cake you either love it or you hate it, there is no in between and not everyone in our family including (me) loves red cake. So I thought it was so neat that the bakery that he ordered it from could half and half. But anyway the cake had all mom's nicknames on it and it read HAPPY BIRTHDAY LISA, MOM, LALA, GRACIE. For the record Mark calls her Gracie because she always breaks glasses and bumps into things, and Mark seems to always hear her drop things when she is showering. and my cousin Emilia calls my mom Lala ever since she was younger because she has two aunt Lisas. If you are familiar with the teletubies Lala is the yellow one. Yes if you know mom yellow is her favorite color.
But the letters were written in lime green. Well anyway I was happy to say that she was in total shock when she came in that room. There were so many people that came into town that she didn't expect such as Uncle roger and her cousin colleen from Cincinnati
Aunt Karla and my cousin Maria from Louisville
Uncle Rick and his girl friend Judy from south Carolina
Uncle Bob and aunt Sue along her cousin Patrick from Florida plus many more. I was very glad that Maria could come. She came in her father's place and she was dressed more casual than most. It wasn't a real dressy event but I wore a purple dress that I had gotten in Florida along with a jean jacket with my silver shoes.
Yes the silver shoes that you like Jess. ;) But anyway Maria seemed a little embarrassed and apologized. All she had on was a sweatshirt, jeans, and tennis shoes. The reason she wasn't so dressed up was because she wasn't sure she wasn't able to go. I had gotten a call from grandma saying that she was coming in her father's place and if I would think Mark would mind. I honestly didn't think he would mind because it wasn't like she's a little girl she's a teenager.
She seemed to have a good time at first but after a couple hours she wanted her mom to take her home and sure enough aunt Karla did and came back. So you know there was a lot of dancing and I sure did join in. I surprised myself by discovering that I could slow dance but the real funny and embarrassing was when the DJ played one of ABBA's songs Dancing Queen. Uncle Rick basically dragged me out on the dance floor and started spinning me around and we were basically the only people out there and he was pointing at me yelling " Dancing queen." It was a great party and everyone enjoyed themselves.
Sunday was a more relaxing day. We still gathered at grandma and grandma's for pizza and to say good bye to uncle Roger and Aunt Karla before they left. When we were talking Aunt Karla showed us a video of a talking dog that was posted on youtube. that just made everyone laugh. I was happy to see that I was able to upload it on to my blog so that you can view it.
After Aunt Karla and uncle Roger left we went to cousin Frank's to visit. It was nice to see my cousin Nina who is in college to become a special ed elementary school teacher similar to Jess. All she has to complete is her student teaching. Best of luck to her and hope everything goes well :)

Extended time with grandparents
As my grandparents were getting ready to go home Wednesday night grandpa looked at me and asked if I wasn't doing anything if I would be interested in spending the night with them at their house that night. Right away I was for it and I went to grab my things. I was in a little bit of a rush because I didn't want to keep them waiting that I forgot to grab my pajamas but that didn't matter. There are times when I sleep in my clothes since I wear comfortable clothing anyway LOL. But anyway grandma and I had a good time. She was in the middle of an interesting book so she kept asking me if I wanted to read which didn't bother me since I am the middle of a good book at the moment as well.
I am happy to say that she finished her book but I am not done with mine yet. For the record I am reading the last of a Beverly Lewis book called The Mercy. For those of you that don't know she writes amish fiction. Each series is about a different family and is quite interesting. You have to start the reading the books in order because they leave you hanging.
If you are interested in the series that I am reading now the first book is called The Thorn, but she also has a new novel out now called The Fiddler. I noticed that grandpa is reading that one now. OK OK enough about that in addition to reading grandma and I also played cards. Grandma and I like to play to card games in particular and they are Golf and Garbage. I know they are unusual games but they are fun and I will give you the rules to both games.
Golf : You deal out six cards to each player and place them in two rows of three face down in front of you. DON'T look at your cards. Beginning at the dealers left, you take turns drawling single cards from the stock or discard pile trying to make pairs beside each other. But the card that was face down there before has to be discarded. Here is how the scoring works.
A's = 1
Jack's = 0
K = -2
Q's = 10 and everything else their normal value and if you get a pair right beside each other they cancel each other out. The hand ends when all cards all face up and just like golf you want the lowest score and there are nine hands total. It's fun and you don't have to lug a golf bag around LOL. Depending on how many players you may need another deck.
Garbage: This is so simple a child can play it, all you do is deal out 10 cards and lay them out in a row face down and say the top card is the 2, you put it wear the second card is. You can continue to play but if you come across a card that such as a Jack or a Queen or if I turned over a two I would have to discard it and say garbage. They are both really fun and if you are looking for a new card game to play I advise you to play one of those games :)
Anyway during the evening things started going downhill. We went to pizza oven for dinner and grandpa insisted ordering for all of us and grandma and I told him what we wanted. He heard my order wrong. I had originally wanted this specialty buffalo chicken pizza but he ordered me the BBQ chicken pizza instead and to make things worse I had originally wanted water to drink but they didn't have any. What restaurant doesn't have water but I didn't want to say anything to grandpa because I didn't want to hurt his feelings so I just ate the BBQ chicken pizza he ordered and drank the lemonade he got for me.
On top of that when I got back I received a text from mom asking if she needed to come and get me. I asked if she would and she sent an alarmingly text such as can you please stay another night? It seemed like she didn't even want me around and it seemed like in my mind and to me it seemed like she was yelling. I text that I didn't mind staying another night but she didn't have to yell. She text that she wasn't yelling but it's just she had not heard from me. I basically apologized but I said I don't like to disturb her at work especially when she's busy. In a way I am glad I stayed another night I don't think seeing mom would solve anything. Well anyway besides that I had fun. Grandma made a homemade apple pie that was to die for. YUMMY! I had some for breakfast both mornings. I better go, stay tuned for further updates there is an exciting event coming up.

She text that she wasn't yelling but it's just she had not heard from me. I basically apologized but I said I don't like to disturb her at work especially when she's busy. In a way I am glad I stayed another night I don't think seeing mom would solve anything. Well anyway besides that I had fun. Grandma made a homemade apple pie that was to die for. YUMMY! I had some for breakfast both mornings. I better go, stay tuned for further updates there is an exciting event coming up.

Busy day
Well today we have a busy day ahead. Mom and I have our usual hair appointment and yes that includes the painful waxing. Youch but it has to be done before Jess's wedding. It seems like everything is getting done just in time. Well anyway after our hair appointment we are going to the store to get some last minute groceries that we need for tonight.
We are having grandpa and grandma over for dinner and it will be nice to see them. Of course I had already seen grandma during our girl night but this will be the first time I see grandpa since they came home from Florida and hopefully they will bring their dog Dunkin. Isn't he cute in the photo:) ? He loves to be picked up and carried around and he loves my mom. Onyx and him get along great and he twirls around whenever he sees treats :)
Well anyway we are having flank steak and mom had picked up a dessert for last night when she went to the store to get the marinade. She has been really busy trying to get things ready plus get the house straightened up so I better go give her a hand.

Grandma's keepsake
Today I was feeling a little nervous so to help myself feel better I gave my grandma a call and told her what was up. It just had to do with a conversation that I had with my mom this morning. See mom is taking this weekend off because she and Mark were invited to a wine tasting in Cleveland along with her cousins Peter and Sally. So mom asked if it would be OK if I could stay with dad or if Katie could come over since she was thinking of taking the weekend off as well. I called dad and he said it was more than OK and that he would pick me up at 12 Saturday. But anyway grandma cheered me up by telling me that she had found a box of old cards and letters that she had kept in an old box and she was reading them today.
She said that I had sent her a thank you letter for a toy that she had gotten for me and that letter I had written : I had started a new medicine and it makes my tummy hurt.
When I heard that I just started laughing. Why would I put that in a thank you note? LOL and it also made me think of how old I must have been when I sent that or what seizure medicine I was on. But anyway grandma told me that she saved a card that Ricky made her that had hand drawn hearts and the sun and had a poem that read: Roses are red violets are blue the sun is shining just like you written on it and she said it's so cute to look back at grand children's or (your) things a few years later.
In fact I have a box filled with my old finger paintings from kindergarten. They are cute :) Well anyway just hearing those stories cheered me up. I suggest keeping a special box with (your) things or you loved ones things. They are fun to look at. Well I better go.
